Spain: More than 700 songs received so far!
MusicTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster has received more than 700 entries so far in their quest to choose the 2009 Spanish Eurovision representative for Moscow in May. You still have until the 17th of December to submit your song and entry in order to compete in the Spanish national selection and thus represent Spain at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

More than 700 entries have been submitted to the TVE Myspace Eurovision 2009: El Retorno, Spanish national selection so far in the past 2 weeks since it opened. More than 700 solo artists and groups have uploaded their song along with their presentation video. The number of entries submitted will surely grow as the deadline for the submission of songs in on the 17th of December.

Relatives seek to identify Spain crash victims
EspañaGrieving relatives on Thursday tried to identify charred bodies from the wreckage of a Spanish jet which crashed at Madrid airport on its second attempt at takeoff after mechanical problems.

Airline officials declined to comment on possible causes for Wednesday's crash in which 153 people were killed, but said Spanair Flight JK5022 had earlier been delayed due to a problem with the air intake heating system before it attempted a second takeoff for its flight to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands.

Madrid air disaster video sheds new light on cause of crash

A new video of this week's Spanair plane crash showed that fire did not start in either of the plane's engines, as had been suggested earlier.

The video, taken by AENA, which runs Spain's airports, shows flight JK5022 take off and begin to climb before it crashes and bursts into flames.

'Multiple breakdowns' for Spanair
EspañaSpain's civil aviation chief has said that the aeroplane that crashed on Wednesday, leaving 153 people dead, must have suffered more than one kind of failure.

The probe into what brought down an aircraft similar to this is likely to take months

Manuel Batista, speaking to El Pais newspaper on Friday, said: "There has been more than one breakdown."
